I don't believe this! I don't know how I didn't notice before...I just found the butterfly from the pull-string mechanism for my Look Around Crissy doll. Without that butterfly at the end of the string, I think the string went all the way inside the doll! I didn't even notice! I put the doll away and went to do something else, and when I was putting something away in my toyroom, I noticed the butterfly on the floor! I can't find the string, so I can only assume that the knot came loose from the butterfly, and the string went all the way in the hole in the doll! I wanna unscrew her to find it, but I'm afraid I'll make things worse! Now she'll never work again!!

If the string went in then you probably cant make it any worse by taking it apart unless you're totally not mechanically inclined. There's probably a way to fix it.

I think that would be a little tough w/o an extra pair of hands, b/c I don't have forceps to hold the string in place to keep it from going back inside the doll while I tie the knot in the butterfly.

I will bet there is a doll forum somewhere that can give you a step by step detailed instruction on fixing it. The same way we do here for Mego stuff. I'd search something like that before I started dismantling it.

See link I put in my last post.

If it's anything like fixing a GI Joe talker, it's actually quite easy. I'd just wrap the string around one finger a couple of times near the base of the string while tying the end of the string to the chain (or in your case tying the end of the string to the 'butterfly')
