Sounds like a job for Sandy! I bet he could take one of those things down. Now THERE's a video I'd pay $5 to download!
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

I have an idea. Instead of taking a video camera, these enthusiasts need to start carrying a dart gun that shoots a micro-chip into their big furry hide which emits a signal. Then they can follow them back to their secret lair in the mountains...likely a trailer park.

Well, Biscardi has been involved in a couple of well documented hoaxes. He claims he was hoaxed as well - but that probably doesn't help his credibility much either. I don't know for sure, but I assume he's still got followers and plenty of detractors in the big foot world because of that.

My problem with ALL of these guys is there's already a substantiated process for releasing research and new findings to the public. It involves disclosing your evidence and peer review BEFORE getting press.

Anyone who 1) claims to have evidence, but is unwilling to show it (for any number of B.S. excuses), but 2) needs 'more funding for their research' or 'more funding to protect their claim to the research' is HUGELY suspect, in my opinion.

Even when competent and well accredited scientists do this, you know they're screwing around. The Fleischmann–Pons Cold Fusion debacle is a perfect example:

You would think if they recorded Big foot that close, you would move in closer. I mean, they are Big foot hunters why not try to get closer.....I'd have my shot gun ready to bust a cap in him if he goes ape ****.....

Maybe the Big Foot really is BIONIC and jumps very far away when you get close by. We need to contact OSI, we need Steve Austin to track this creature!!!

I just don't know of any accredited scientist who would go out on a limb and make a claim to know of the existence of an unknown species, dead or alive, without strong evidence to support that suggestion. It does not line up with the process of discovery. Right now the existence of Big Foot is no more proven than aliens. So, from a scientific perspective, he remains merely a myth that people like to romanticize into reality.

You'd hope there wouldn't be, anyway!

Pons and Fleischmann were accredited scientists. They thought they figured out cold fusion - skipped peer review process, hid the evidence of their experiments and went straight to the media with their "discovery" which caused a media storm. When more detials of Pons and Fleischmann's work was revealed everyone realized their calculations were garbage right away. Cold fusion just doesn't work. They were either duped by their own bad calculations, or purposely fraudulent - in either case if they went through the proper steps they might not have ruined their careers.

Grover Krantz was an accredited academic who believed in big foot. He went through the proper process - but his work never really caught on because he didn't really get past the second stage - his work never gained ground after it was published. The evidence wasn't convincing enough to his peers. That didn't change his mind - and that's fine - but that's how the process works.

This Todd Standing guy doesn't even have an academic background and he's leaping over the steps - so anything he says is completely worthless to me. Still kind of entertaining though.
