thanks for the tip John, I have always wanted to see New York, I want to visit the Troma office aswell, I would love to just walk around New York and experience the culture of such a well developed city. I am having a little trouble with my parents though, they think that New York is full of crime and gang's. I know that it isnt because New York is now considered one the safest cities in America, with most of the crime being gang on gang violence, which would pose no real threat to tourists and is probably something you wouldnt even see unless you went out of your way to find it.
I think people get the wrong impression of New York from Hollywood, which seems to portray New York as a "don't go out after dark" place(I hate Hollywood).
thanks for the help though I will take that into consideration, I would love to watch a baseball game with a hotdog and coke in the heart of New York, sounds like my idea of fun.
Think B.A. Where did you hide the Megos?Comment

For the best food and strangest culture, New Orleans!!! I have heard Savanna, GA is like a clean New Orleans with some strange cultures and great food.
Like ABMAC said, you most likely wouldn't want to go to the beach coming from down under. Alaska is great (I heard), but off the beaten path.
I have been to Vegas, it was great, but just what I expected. I never been to NY, but plan to one day (catch a show or two).sigpicComment

Johnnie has a lot of good suggestions for NY. There are a bunch of other museums, too. If you are here in the summer, there is Coney Island, or see the Mets or Yankees play, before their old stadiums are torn down. And as others have said NY is the safest big city in America.
If you don't want to travel that far, San Fran is a great city, as is San Diego, Seattle, etc.Comment

I personally love NYC. It would be my first choice. Although I've never been to Texas and am curious about. When I was younger I had a friend from Texas and he always talked about how great Texas was. I don't know why I have not ever gone but always think about it.Comment

"Texas, its a whole 'nother country"
Texas is pretty great. They have everything from beaches to desert. I would love to tour NASA.
One thing I would love to do is an antique shopping trip through the mid west. I have heard Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas has more antique/thrift shops. It is from when people moved out west.
I would also like to do a Route 66 driving trip from Chicago to CA.sigpicComment

so many choices, I honestly have no idea where to go now. I am still going strong with seeing New York, I think New York and Disney Land are the places people always ask "wow, you went to America, did you see the Statue of Liberty?".
Miami sounds like a nice place for tourist, like you said toys2cool, there are a lot of good looking women in bikinis and such so that is an added bonus, but like the others mentioned, Australia is all beaches so going across the globe for a beach is a bit pointless.
Texas also seem's like a great place to be, it has some very historical places and I think it would be a great change of pace.
In conclusion I think I am leaning towards New York but I am still open for suggestions, I just have to convince my parent's that the place isnt as bad as it sounds. I wish I could be there in time for MegoMeet too, I don't think I will be though, I will be a month or so too early, a real shame because I would love to meet up with all of you guys.Ithe Monster Hero

I was born in NY, lived in Miami until I was 27, and now I live in the middle of nowhere. I have relatives that live in South America. When they come up to visit, I can tell you what THEY always write home about:
New York City and Disney World.
Now to clarify... by New York City, I mean the Disney World of the North East area of New York City, Manhatten. Pretty much, stay on the island of NY. That's where the tourist areas are, where you can go to ground zero, empire state building, rockefeller center, the UN, take a boat out to the statue of liberty, hit the museums, visit the offices of Marvel and DC comics, and pretty much see every landmark made famous by TV shows and hollywood movies.
And of course they have Disney World travel packages where they fly you to NY from whatever country you're in for a few days, then connect you to Orlando for a few days, and then back to NY, and back home. Look into one of those deals.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Excellent suggestion LadyZod, Disney World and New York rollled into one, sounds like a plan. I am getting all excited now, visiting the DC and Marvel offices would be a great adventure too, maybe I can finally thank Stan Lee for helping me waste all of my money on his merchandise.
I think Disney World is the one I want to go to, not Disney Land (how confusing, I always thought they were the same thing). I also have a friend in Florida who I will probably meet up with. Would it be a huge hassle to go from Florida from New York, would it be close enough to travel on a bus or what?Ithe Monster Hero

Bus or train, you're looking at a 2 or 3 day trip depending on who you go with.
By plane, 2 or 3 hrs or so.
I'd go by plane.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
