    Can't believe how time flies...

Nine years ago today George Harrison passed away out of this "Material World". Can't believe how fast it's gone by. Hell, it's gonna be 30 years in December that John Lennon was shot and killed.

Anyway...play some George if you have any of his albums. Been playing All Things Must Pass and the George Harrison LP today...2 of my favorite George LP's. RIP George.

Any time to celebrate George is good to me.

I particularly have a soft spot for his song that appeared at the end of
the TIME BANDITS movie: DREAM AWAY.

        Here's the studio version:

        again...

There was a "live" version on youtube too, but it appears blocked.

I think this has to be my favorite on All Things Must Pass....it's tough to pick one song from what in my opinion is an essential LP for the 70's...Such great guitar work and just a great song:

Great stuff Roberto & Mike... thanks for the heads up on this special date,
and thread creation to celebrate George's music.

              Kudos on the thread!
I was talking about this to my daughter the other day, who has now become a big Beatles fan. Miss you George and miss you John.

30 years for Winston O'Boogie. Still recall that day vividly.

I will never apologize for loving this song nor will I stoop to calling it a "guilty pleasure". I love it and it always makes me smile. (I also will not go all "contrarian", as I am known to do, having recently read that it was the best selling of the recently released Beatles tunes on iTunes. AFP: Beatles sell two million songs in a week on iTunes)

Not a guilty pleasure at all...also attests to how great that record is that it was in the top 10 of albums on Itunes. One of the best produced songs I've ever heard. Put on the headphones and it's an absolutely amazing record/song to listen to.

Someone I read talked about how uncivil society has become...just put on some of George's stuff. Listen to what he was talking about in his records and you may just change for the better.

I'm not a spiritual or religious person...but George does something in his recordings where you think "Maybe there is something or someone out there..."

Yeah, it's so effortless to appreciate Lennon and McCartney that it becomes easy to be dismissive of George without meaning to. He gets overlooked to be sure and I have been guilty of it. Totally understandable, but, ohhhh.......what one misses out on by never moving past "The Beatles" or John and Paul.

My guilty pleasure is "Handle with Care." To me it is a George Harrison song that other people just happen to be singing on but I never think of any of his solo or Beatles stuff as anything but music that I am glad exists
                        It's all good!

Stop that nonsense! We're all still spring chickens compared to Willie Nelson.
