    Yojimbo

Sometimes I crave for samurai movies. Tonight it was Yojimbo. It was AWESOME as always.

    Hmmmm....

A friend recommends the Yagyu Conspiracy tv series; although I haven't seen it yet.

I love Kurosawa movies. The semi-sequal Sanjuro is great too.

Years ago, TCM played a Kurosawa marathon and I was able to watch all of his obscure stuff. Even his lesser early works were still very good. He was a true master and one of the greatst 3 or 4 directors of all time.

This is a great thread. It truly makes me feel less alienated to find there are folks who love these movies, as well. I usually get blank stares when I try to bring these movies up in conversation. I can't even get my best buddies to give them a try.

I love Westerns. Absolutely love them and when I found the connection to "Samurai Flicks" it made me fall head over heels for them, too.

I love westerns, too! I'm always flipping the channels looking for a great western. I love samurai movies, westerns, of course the apes...and kung fu movies. It's great to know that there are others out there who love them, too.

Damn I missed the Kurosawa marathon on TMC.

Eons ago, when Bravo used to play movies, I would stay up all night watching Kurosawa movies by myself.

I love westerns, as well. They might be my favorite genre. I think Kurosawa made foreign films that translate the best to an American audience. Next topic: favorite westerns.
