need software to keep track of books, dvds, etc. preferrably with barcode support

I need software to keep track of books, dvds, etc. preferrably with barcode support so I don't have to type everything in by hand. I'd love to hear recommendations if anyone has any. Thanks!

I have friends that swear by the Collectorz suite of programs for their comics, dvd and game inventories with barcodes. You can try them for free, but it looks like you need to download and purchase a suite for each type of collection (one for dvds, one for books, etc.)

I use OpenOffice to create database files and reports for my stuff, but I also don't need barcode support.

Delicious would be my first choice, were they to make a PC version. (Damn you, Mac! Daaaamn you!)

Collecterz is the best PC one I've seen, but having to buy different versions for books, DVDs, and CDs bothers me. I didn't realize you could download a trial, though, so I may just give it a try. Thanks!

Insofar as barcode scanner support goes, I don't HAVE to have it, it would just be nice. Those old CueCat scanners are under $10 on eBay, so it seems like a cheap investment to avoid typing in a bunch of data.

Could you just set up your own spreadsheet or database? I know Excel and Access support a barcode reader/scanner.

I've helped set up records in a library and you can scan the ISBN into Google or sites like Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and find all of the publisher info to set up a record.

Well, I am not sure whether this post can help you a little bit http://answers.onstartups.com/questi...k-of-inventory, actually, after reading this post, I think you can add a barcode generator software to your Excel. Then you can keep track of your stuff with barcodes.
