    I need audio hosting advice

    Hiya folks,

Every year I record a xmas album with a bunch of my musical friends. It is sort of a holiday greeting card that I then give out to friends and family. It is a fun hootenanny of an evening that gets captured as a quasi-rehearsed live recording.

Each year I also come down to the crunch of how to get this to folks in some sort of timely fashion before the 25th of Dec. I usually burn a bunch of cds and mail them out.

I am trying to find a way to host the audio as a stream or some such thing that folks can access and download. I have looked into some hosting ideas in the past, but they were a bit complilcated (having to do with encoders/decoders and all that sort of stuff) and not user friendly for the older parents and non-computer type folks who might be trying to access this online.

Anybody have any suggestions for easy to access and low-cost (or free) hosting for what amounts to a live album?

    thanks in advance - rche

you can up them as mp3 files which virtual any pc or mac can play by default and you can use a file hoster such as megaupload.com or rapidshare.com to host the file. In those cases you would put the files in a zip or rar archive and upload them to the sites, they give you a download link which you send to whomever

of course you could up a full wav file archive, but seeing as how that can be 600-700 megs in size, figure you might opt for the smaller mp3 format
