Ditto, but I never would have been able to wait that long!

Thanks for the heads up. My girlfriend wanted to get one but now since someone reviewed it I'll let her know to wait. She prefers Android but sounds like it won't do what she really wants, to stream movies.
I think the iPad is looking good but want 4G connectivity.

It didn't have the opening day that the iPad experienced. But then some of that would be to blame on whoever decided to just send 5 freaking units to a store in the ONLY chain that is selling it so far. I assume larger markets got more. They told me that they had about 25 people who stopped in and wanted one, but were told none were available. Apparently a few went away quite upset about that. That certainly won't help Motorola's sales.

Well, the Xoom is touting 4G, but that is not available yet. It will be some time before it is and I am told I would have to take this tablet to an authorized center to have 4G enabled when it is available. Also, no Flash on it yet either.

I heard flash is being phased out by many users. Not sure if it's true since we are encoding a lot of flash content for Disney, although they have recently requested streamable .mp4s lately and so have other clients. Hmmm.
I read on WIRED that Verizon will be building a new 4G network from the ground up while ATT will just simply upgrade their current network. My gf recently switched over to Verizon and claims although costly, the service is solid for her 3G Samsung phone(Not sure which model).

Flash is very much a battery hog. Many sites are being coded in HTML5, which enables motion without the battery draining. That's been Apple's stance all along that Flash is not optimized for the mobile platforms and that consumers would rather have better battery life as opposed to flash animations.

You definitely are a "first adopter"...probably owned a palm pilot when they were first released...eh? I'm the type who waits for things to settle down a bit before buying anything. I finally splurged on an HDTV 2 years ago and love it and also have a blu ray player but that's about it. There is an Apple store somewhat near my home and it is ALWAYS packed. My next door neighbor is a huge Apple junkie. He is a high up VP of Engineering for a software company and told me his dream job was to quit and be a salesman at an Apple store....and he wasn't kidding.

                    So...he finally did...thank God...lol.

I too...kinda addicted to Coke...but 90% of the time is Coke Zero (cherry flavor)...I do prefer regular Coke...but that would be too much sweets for me.

I like my beer too (duh)...but to preserve my liver...I only have one per day during my dinner...however...it increases on the weekends...lol.

Have you ever tried any ales by Dogfish Head? It is amazing stuff and I can't get almost anything since I'm close. If you want to give one a try, go to the dogfish website to get an idea of their offerings...see what you like and I'll send one out to you to try...I'm not really a beer drinker but some of this stuff has alcohol content 8% plus and just one and you feel the effects.

I stopped by a Best Buy and asked if they had any. The guy said they only got 5 in and sold out right away. He was bummed, because one of the 5 was suppose to be a display model, but they sold it instead. He mentioned that they are selling them at the verizon store also, but I didn't check since I wasn't really planning to buy one yet and I'm sure verizon will make you get a data plan with it.

My weakness is kitchen gadgets. I got a slow cooker from Wal-Mart for a buck even though I didn't need another.

My addictions are fun... The Forum and cheap Re-Megos. I start and end my day (plus who knows how many stops during the day) here at the museum. And I am an absolute sucker for cheap Re-Mego stuff... even the CTVT stuff that I KNOW is crap but it must be carded. I guess that makes me feel like its not a total loss when it falls apart.

On a newer note, I do believe I've gotten pretty addicted to Mego and Re-Mego monsters. But in all cases know that I am NOT complaining.

I did not own a Palm Pilot, but I did own a few Apple Newtons. I too am an Apple junkie and have been since day one. Apple revolutionized the industry I am in so I needed to keep up with things. I used to be an image assembler at a few local printers (our layman's job title was stripper, I got a few looks with that one on loan applications) and desktop publishing on the Apple Macintosh pretty much made my job obsolete. So I had to jump on board and have been a junkie ever since.

I am just the opposite of a gadget lover.
I nearly had a heart-attack dragging a 32 in trinitron 175lbs monster into my basement!
And in my life have owned a cel phone for 7 weeks, before tossing it into the ditch on the highway.
