What type plastic does DrMego use on his repro pieces?
I think years and years ago I heard he used something called Fantastic Plastic. I don't know it's true or not. Way back then customizers tried almost anything from bondo to plaster. Doc was way ahead of all of us.
He told me a type that Smooth On sells . I had already seen it but the problem is they only have it in black. Not good for paint or dye.
No reply on the email for help from them.
I wonder just what is the plastic is called that our action figures are made of? I mean the more flexible ones ( Modern Star wars) not the brittle stuff ( 1980s GI Joe )

Did you mean Mere? as in Simply? all I found on a goofle search was South American bands. I think Mire is Spanish.
It needs to be rubbery to pop in and out of sockets. and flex.
See my "Join Date" that was because I was looking for plastics help. two years .
Sure I got tempted and bought all teh Star Trek and POTA EMCE stuff . . AND a bunch of vintage POTA stuff cause I hung out here but I am trying to make my own stuff in my art sculpture.
I know about Fine arts and commercial arts and I am trying to blend the two.
Scupture is too heavy . I figured that out in undergrad. No more Bronze, wood, steel, clay, . . INSTEAD expanding foam in molds, lightweight plastic. paint jobs to make em look metal or wood etc .
I wont make any money off this its just my dream to make my own figures and figure out the lost art of mechanical puppetry.
I meant More Vinyl. I think SW figures have softer vinyl in them. Mego ST , Black Hole & Buck Rogers figures are more like the G.I. Joes and are a harder plastic.
