Guy Who Remade 'Galactica' Is Remaking 'Wild, Wild West'

Don't know if this is old news, but-
Ron Moore, the man who rebooted "Battlestar Galactica" into a hit series, is now taking on a reboot of the 1960s CBS Western action drama "The Wild, Wild West," reports Deadline.com. Moore is teaming on the project with Naren Shankar, a former executive producer/showrunner for "CSI. "Like "Hawaii Five-0," CBS is hoping for "The Wild Wild West" to capture the spirit of the original show while giving it a new spin. "The Wild Wild West" starred Robert Conrad and Ross Martin as secret agents in the 1870s, working for President Ulysses S. Grant. It ran from 1965-69 and inspired a 1999 feature film version that starred Will Smith and Kevin Kline, which failed miserably.

    Hmmm,

IMO Brisco County, Jr. was about the best Wild Wild West remake there could be.

They should just leave the show alone now.

I'm digging Hawaii Five-O so if WWW is even close to that I'll be watching....Anything to make me forget about that Will Smith disaster....

Since Wild Wild West was sort of Steam Punk before there was Steam Punk, I wonder if they'll head more in that direction to try to bring in those fans.

It's starting to get a lot like Windows... keep rebooting until something works.

I didn't like what Moore did on Trek or to Galactica and won't give him the time of day on this. i'd rather go buy the old shows dvd's.

Big fan of Moore and the rebooted Galactica. But I do wonder if he might try an original property sometime. This sounds like a stinker.

I'd love to see more adventures for The Wild, Wild, West but I don't know Moore is the guy to do it. Besides when will he have time if he is milking Galactica to death with: Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome???? Will his new WWW be a dark & depressing vision like his partner filmed with the new Bionic Woman? Or will it actually be an adventure series & fun to watch? I can just see him stealing from the film Unforgiven and combining it with something else to make a very un-WWW series.

@Scott, Moore was Exec Producer on Rosewell & Carnivale`& a TV movie called Virtuality. That must show some of the breadth of what he can do when not "re-imagining" someone else property.

A friend of mine always complained how he hated the Tom Cruise Mission: Impossible and the Will Smith Wild Wild West because they each "messed with one of the Three Sacred Jim's -- Jim Phelps, Jim, West, and Jim Kirk" . . . haven't talked to him in years, but I suspect ST09 didn't win any points with him either.

Don't know how Moore's planning WWW, but a more currently-steampunky take on the original's proto-steampunkiness might sell. I'd hope he wouldn't take it too dark and serious -- I wouldn't want camp, but but it has to be clever and fun.
