    PayPal fees - missing monies??

I have a question that I'll try and ask without spilling my personal financial business into the open forums -

A fellow member just made a substantial payment, and although its telling me (PayPal site) that HIS payment was in FULL, I am short $2.50. Its not a BIG deal by any means, I'd just like to know where my $2.50 went??
I realize that there are fees, (or so my wife tells me, heh) just like as with E-Bay, but why doesnt it appear in the 'itemized' menu at the bottom? (I hope I'm making sense, argghhhh, all of this tech *****!!)

    Example:

payment from XXXX - XXXXX dollars
payment from XXXX - XXXX dollars

...But WHERE does it say anything about their 'fees'?

Again, not a big deal, but I'm not comfortable at all with them just 'taking' their cut without notification or some sort of written 'consent'. I'm sure its just a simple case of techno-idiocy on MY part, but I like to be able to KNOW where my bread is going.

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks!

You probably missed them talking about the fees while they were explaining that you needed to "squeal like a pig"...

That's how they make their fortune, charging us fees. They tell you what the fees are somewhere in the transaction description. If it was a sizable payment, $2.50 sounds reasonable.

When you look up your history, PP shows you recent transactions, but does not show the fee removal bits. If you poke the phrase 'show all transactions', you can see what went where.

Awesome as always guys - thanks. Yeah, I figured as much. Doesnt seem too painful though, all in all it seems like they only took 1-2%.

          Thanks again -

they charge a fee for anny one who is set up to take a cc transaction (even if the payment you get is from a person's bank acct) unless the sender of the personal payment adds the fee into the money they send you pay it on receiept. If you use it for an ebay acttion you can be paying a total of 8-12% in fees between the sister companies

What gets me is when they charge the fees and then give a really lousy exchange rate which ends up costing even more than the fees.
