There's a new Sherlock Holmes series starting tonight on PBS - Sherlock - and it's getting pretty good reviews. It takes place in modern times, and Dr. Watson is played by Martin Freeman, who will also play the lead in The Hobbit.

Very good! i watched it and it held up really good. not a man out of time but a sherlock for the now. it doesn't hurt it was made by 2 big doctor who fans Mark gatiss and Who Showrunner Steven Moffat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"Hang on Lady... Yeah Sherlock was great. Fast paced and clearly influenced by the recent film, but much more fun and less jazzy for the sake of being jazzy. Go PBS!

I watched it on my bedroom TV at 1am, and expected to quickly fall asleep to it. But it was excellent, and I stayed awake to watch the whole thing!
