    Tron on DVD

The 20th anniversary addition of the Tron DVD is going for around $40 (both Amazon and e-bay), because it is out of print. I just sold my copy figuring that there will be a re-release (I want a blu-ray) when the new movie comes out. So if you have Tron sitting on a shelf someplace you may want to sell it and make a buck.
    Just passing on the info.

Disney really SHOULD re-release this movie. My son is all about Tron: Legacy, but has no idea about the original movie. If they re-release it in the next month or so, then a lot of kids will be made into new fans in time for the sequel. Heck, I haven't seen it in 20 years!

Disney is all about the money, there is no way they won't re-release it. But will it be with the new movie or will they wait to release both at the same time on dvd.

As much as I LOVE that movie, it will be interesting to see how well that film can translate to a high definition transfer. My fear is it will give too much separation on the effects since they used alot of dated blue screen techniques at that point. Now if they could update it a little bit like they did when they released the directors cut of Star Trek the movie, that could breath new life into it. Doubtful whether Disney would be able to justify the cost of a makeover since so much of that film IS an effect.

It's supposed to hit Blu-ray this November.

            Tron Blu-ray
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
