    Cutting the tree down.

A couple weeks ago I posted that I had to cut down two big pines in my back yard cause they got hit by lighting. Well I cut them down and left the stumps so I could make a table top for them, at bar height.

The I shaved the bark from the other parts I cut up and made stools from them.

This is how it came out. It was perfect cause it's near my fire pit.

It looks great, but in a few years that main stump is gunna rot and there's no way to stop it.

But for now, it's really nice and very rustic

That's so cool!! Can you seal the main stump to prevent wood rotting?

Yea it's actually 2 main stumps under there, but i did completely cover them with epoxy so I did what I could to prolong the rot.

The Top is coated with bar top epoxy= 50 coats of varnish.

Whole project 100 bucks and about 2 hours labor. Not counting cutting the trees down lol. Lucky I still have a patio roof.

Must look better with a couple of drinks sitting on it though.
