If I passed this guy in the street I'd definitely give him some money.
Unlike most beggers he's actually doing something for it. And this was great

The guy is doing publicity for homelessness as an issue we must face.
Big Applause from me for getting my attention

From the Video description "As I said this is a performance. I don't want there to be any doubts about my situation. I am a performer. I have a roof over my head and I have yet to start my own family. But this video isn't about me. This is for the men, women and children on our streets who don't have bright green puppets on their hands. The people who aren't always as easy to see. This is for you."

He is Raising awareness for the homeless.

The best thing to do is give to the agencies helping the homeless. Seems that most on the street are scamming for a living. (Why else would the same group of people ask me for money almost every day for the last 10 years on my walk from my downtown office!)

                        Incredible stuff!

The sad thing is though that there are a LOT of scammers out there who aren't homeless or at the very least aren't completely honest about their situation...Which makes people hesitant to donate in these instances....

This past spring we took a trip to NYC and saw a guy who claimed to be an amputee...his leg was tucked up behind him as he sat on the ground....his overcoat helping with the "illusion". A couple of hours later we saw him on another corner with the same gimmick...but this time his OTHER leg was tucked behind him.

In his defense, his leg DID fall asleep and it really did feel like it was amputated.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

I enjoy street performers who busk, and will drop some in the hat for their entertainment. I mean, that is their job. They perform for tips.

However you don't see that many in Florida. What you do see alot though is the scam artist who find begging to be an easy way to score.

The saddest part is telling between that scam artist and someone who is genuinely in need.

Seriously, how many people are living paycheck to paycheck? With homes being forclosed, how many people are just one paycheck away from the street?
