Back in the good ole days of Kenner/Star Wars...

I remember collecting my Proof of Purchase tags and sending off for my free Emperor figure.

I remember getting a package in the mail one day, but it was not my figure.

Instead, there was an apology letter and 6-8 ESB die-cast rebels and snowtroopers.

They were apologizing for the delay in my Emperor shipment and gave me the die cast toys as a gift.

I still got the Emperor too eventually.

God, I miss those days terribly.

My Emperor was delayed as well, but I didn't get a "play with these in the meantime" gift. I did get a set of 4 diecast figures as a mail-in from C3POs cereal.

My brother played this scratch off game that energiser batteries had going. He won a hundred bucks, and so we sent in the game piece. They wrote back and called him a cheater, and said he altered the game piece so they didn't pay. He was like 5 or 6 and barely understood the game, let alone possessing the skills to rig the piece. Jerks. We've bought Duracell ever since.
