Yep, Twilight Eyes was the book with the carnival. I had read quite a few of his books by the time I stumbled on TE. I was used to his books starting with a bang and picking up speed from there. As TE starts out a bit slower, I almost put it down and didn't read it. But I stuck with it and it quickly became my favorite. I read it every year around carnival season. Great read. It would make an awesome movie. Heck, it might even make a great TV series. My love of that book was one of the reasons I liked HBO's Carnivale so much.

Peter David. I really loved both the Star Trek Imzadi books.

And currently I'm reading Rick Springfield's new book Late Late At Night.

              Wow....FLASHBACK!
I read David's IMZADI...and a bunch of other STNG books
I was VERY impressed by them but haven't read them in years.

It's scary how good some of those STNG books were...I don't know if David wrote ALL my favorites but man... there was one called VENDETTA that
I loved, and one where DATA became human that was just mindblowing.

I really like his writing style. It's as if an uncle were sitting on the porch telling you a story. So very basic that it's brilliant.

                                My favorites:

                                Steven Jesse Bernstein
                                Charles Bukowski
                                Burroughs Jr.
                                Harlan Ellison

And I love reading Peter Egan's monthly columns.
