Did any members meet LEE MAJORS at Wizard World New York?

I was just curious is any members here attended the Big Apple Con that Wizard World had a couple weeks back and met Lee Majors. Did anyone go? I'm trying to decide if we should spend $60 on a photo-op or if Lee lets you take a pic with your own camera there. Anyone have any insight about this?

Yeah I hear ya' Mike. I've been waiting years myself...in fact last year, when Yana and I met Lindsay Wagner and Richard Anderson, when we came home and added the pics to our wall, we both said that it's too bad we would never meet Lee Majors because he never does conventions/appearances. Then a year later we hear he's coming to Boston! I guess I should never say never! I know we can buy a photo op for $60 but I don't want to do that and then get to the show and find out people are taking their own pics with their own cameras. Not that I'd be that upset as $60 for a pic with Lee is a steal but I'd obviously rather save the cash if possible and pay for the autograph with it.

So I figured I'd ask if any of my fellow 70's geeks in here went to New York's show last week and can shed some light on this. Hope you're doing well Mike with your new Biosonic Steve! An awesome grab that was!

How was it meeting Lindsay Wagner and Richard Anderson ?

I heard she's really nice but Anderson's a little snooty.

Not my experience with them Mikey. In fact, we spoke with Richard Anderson for almost 10 minutes. He was VERY personable and quite funny actually. Lindsay was a joy and was patient as Yana and I had to take several pics with her because they kept coming out blurry! LOL! We also met Janice Whitby who played Katy the Fembot.

Yeah I told you to go for that one my man! Good for you! We DID meet Majors on Saturday but the show was in Boston...and so was President Obama! Kind of put a miserable damper on the day! Traffic was horrendous, the show was terrible (as terrible as meeting Lee Majors could ever be), and it was very unorganized and dumpy looking. But all worth meeting Lee! We went to see Alice Cooper Friday night as a V.I.P. guest of the Alice's guitarist...who happens to be a big JAWS fan. Anyway, we didn't get to bed until 6AM from the after-show party and had to get up at 9AM the next day to make the drive to Boston. So we were WIPED but we made it and the weekend went off without a hitch, except for the traffic on the highway that was stopped for the Presidential motorcade. I'll post the Lee Majors pic in the Facebook album with the other Bionic autographs I've shown here before.

I'm hoping Lee will do other shows in the future. Especially the Motor City Comic Con in Novi Michigan and Adventure Con in Knoxville or Pigeon Forge TN. Heck! I'd even register to go to Dragon Con in Atlanta GA if he were to go there. My question is, what is Lee like as a person if you meet him.
                Cheers.

A guy on the list for the bionic shows talked about how meeting him was terrific.

                  To paraphase:

He and his brother got a ticket for a photo while Lee was on break so he spotted his wife and they started talking to her. A couple minutes later Lee put his hand on his shoulder and greeted him. They were able to talk to him for a little bit about his shows before taking a pic with him.

He went back the next day and got to talk to him some more. He learned that Richard Anderson convinced him to start doing shows (and I am sure the DVD release has something to do with it though, although I heard that the stars are not getting that much money from the video releases for these old shows)

The syndication deal these actors got back in the 70's must be a ***** cause real syndication money didnt start getting big till the mid 80's I feel kinda bad that Richard Anderson and Lee Majors are not really getting thier cut on these new DVD releases.but Im happy Lee is finally doing more Convention Shows so he can see the love for him and his character and also for Richard Anderson offcourse

Hey Lou! I went out to look for your pic with Lee but don't see it. I would love to hear all about that experience! I picked up the Bionic Woman box set yesterday and listened to Kenneth Johnson's commentary on the first two origin episodes. Some hysterical revelations from that sitting. While Lee Majors was in the Big Valley he was unable to get a role in a movie that ended up being the one and only porn film to ever receive a Oscar... Midnight Express.

I think you are talking about Midnight Cowboy which was not a porn movie but a movie that got an "X" rating on initial release and won an Oscar for best picture. Today, the movie would be a middle of the road "R".

I could easily see Lee Majors in the role Jon Voight played.
