I watched it last night. Thanks for the heads up btw as I set it to TIVO all the episodes. I thought the quality looked fine. I am watching it on a 42 LCD too. I loved this show and the episode last night first aired (1-20-1966) the day after I turned 1.

The campy Batman show is what made me forever a Batman fan. He has stayed as my favorite super hero after all these years. And I always loved the Batmobile. George Barris built the greatest cars back then.

I've found that older prints, plus bootlegs & VHS tapes, tend to look better on smaller screens, especially if they're not hi-def TVs. When I watch a VHS tape on my big screen, all I can think about is how nasty it looks. The same tape on standard 19-32" TVs looks fine.

Started recording it last night, and watching the first episode now. Doesn't look too bad on my HDTV, but I make sure non-HD shows play in their original aspect ratio and at normal screen resolution. Probably looks better than it did when I watched the reruns as a kid on the old tube TV we had.

Was at my nephews the other night (he gets that channel) and we watched one.

The beginning Batman song kept skipping.

I love how any time there's trouble with Joker, Riddler, Penguin, or Catwoman every one of Commisioner Gordon's men - including his Chief of Police - bow their heads and back down whenever he asks them if they are up for the challenge. Then they all look at the Bat phone... Somehow it makes me laugh every time.

And Aunt Harriet never questions why Bruce and Dick never bring home any fish from their daily "fishing trips"...

            What a classic series!

In 1989/90 Channel 11 WPIX ran the series here in NY from start to finish...My friend just gave me his tapes and those tapes are better video quality than the episodes that are running on the Hub. And those were done 21 years ago...Only problem is that WPIX chopped about 3 - 4 minutes out of each episode and condensed the episodes into one hour episodes with no ending credits after the 1st part of the 2 parters. It's a shame too because the color is a lot richer than some of the bootleg stuff. Still gonna dupe them to DVD because the color is that nice on them...make sort of a "WPIX Batman TV Series" version.

LOL, I thought the same thing watching last nights episodes on my DVR.

I still don't see why some think the quality is bad as it looks just fine to me. Maggy watched an episode and agreed that the picture was fine. As I said I have a 42" Vizio 1080p Hi-Def TV and a Direct TV Hi-Def DVR. The shows are not playing in high def of course but they are full screen and look great. Maybe I am just lucky and getting a better feed? I am at a loss to know why I am getting a clear picture and others aren't.

I am really enjoying the episodes!

Picture looked good to me as well when this was showing last year.
Also the remastered Tos Trek looks great on here.

How long are the episodes without commercials? The episodes on the 30 Disc set are about 25 minutes per episode. That includes opening and closing credits. I bet they are editing them to fit more ads.

I finally remembered to check so I could answer your question. Also including the recap/intro, and opening/closing credits there are three 2 minute breaks so it is 24 minutes of run time. This is from my DVR so it should be pretty accurate as it shows the times at the bottom of the screen when I fast forward past the ads.

My dad used to say Gordon and O'Hara couldn't nab a jay-walker without calling Batman and Robin.

I think they may be speeding up the theme and end theme to make up time for more commercial. It seems faster than it should. But it's good to see it on TV again.

I'm just digging the feel of it. They were smart to break it up over every night, not have it back to back like when FX use to run it.

A local station here has been airing Batman uncut and with a nice picture but with tons of screen bugs flying on and off. I taped them anyway because it's good for a Batman fix. It must be doing well because when they changed the schedule around in Sept they kept it on at 7pm.
Being a nerd I put my disc in and played it with the same Hub ep and the Hub ep was uncut too but sped up quite a bit. They wouldn't stay in sync.
                                Better late than never.....
