Even though I have it on tape (twice), I really still love to watch it on real TV, b/c it harkens back to the days of the CBS Special Presentation, (remember that great bumper?), and Mom would always tell me to make sure I cleaned my plate, I did my homework and had my jammies on before it started. Plus now I have Great Pumpkin jammies, so I like to watch while I wear them!

      Anyone know when it's on?

Wal-Mart had it on Blu-Ray for $15. So tempted to get it.

Never too early to watch a holiday special. Hopefully, this little nugget doesn't hijack this thread, but when my son was three years old, for some reason the opening of the Great Pumpkin scared him so much that he went into hysterics and cried himself to sleep in his room. We cannot even read a Peanuts comic out loud in the house without him freaking out. I love good ol Charlie Brown and it is so difficult for me and my daughter. She even has the Peanuts figures and has to play with them upstairs when her brother is not around. He's 5 now and still hasn't grown out of it, yet. When Great Pumpkin comes on TV this year, my daughter and I will have my wife distract him downstairs with Spongebob on a DVD and we'll enjoy on the upstairs TV. Scared of Snoopy but loves Spongebob and Superheroes. Go figure
          It's all good!

Wow, that's weird. Poor kid. I hope he outgrows it.

I've watched it every year for more than forty years.
