I heard them say it has been in the works for some time. I don't know if there was some unhappiness and I guess even though they are theoretically under contract, sometimes it's better to trade someone rather than keep them and not have their heart in it.

Minn needed a receiver and a 3rd rounder is a steal. Keep in mind they only get him for sure for 3/4 of a season. He will be a free agent at the end of the season. They are Super Bowl or bust now for sure. Probably won't have Moss and almost certainly will not have Favre next year.

Moss came out a couple of weeks ago saying he was upset the Pats hadn't given him an extension yet. He wasn't very nice about it and said some crappy stuff about the ownership and that doesn't work in New England, no matter who you are. Great player with a crappy attitude. Too bad when he shut up and played the fans loved him but complainers don't get a lot of sympathy here in any sport.

Looks like the Vikings just got a little bit better. I'm not a fan of Moss, but he is pretty darn good. If he and Favre are able to develop a good rapport..watch out.

I don't know if it would be a great move for any other team, but it was a great move for Minnesota with the way things are going there. I know Favre really wanted Moss in Green Bay when the Raiders were ready to get rid of him.
