Very saddened by this news. I worked for Mr. Cannell many times over the years.
He was a great guy. Always very down to earth.
He really helped me out in L.A. years ago writing personal letters to set me up with meetings.
A very talented, kind and humble man. He will be greatly missed.

This was a shock to me as well. I used to watch his shows all the time. RIP, Stephen. You were a trailblazer.

          RIP Stephen J Cannell.
You knew how to wrap together a car chase, a couple of fist fights, as well as loveable characters and snappy dialogue.
Always topped with the greatest theme music!
Rockford Files was the tops for me.

What sad news. Mr. Cannell influenced generations through his work, and by all accounts was a gentleman through and through. All thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

I raise a glass to you, Mr. Cannell--thank you for making my childhood.

That is shocking to say the least.

I know this isn't the time or place, but I can't help but wonder about his creations. What kind of legal tangle they might be in with his passing. It's this man's legacy.

I wish him godspeed. And I wish his family my sincere condolences.

As a child he made me believe magic pajamas could make someone fly, that black GMC was a cool ride, that grown men could dress up like teenagers and go under cover in a school and not stick out, and that Fred Dryer could kick serious ***.

Wow, that's a shame. He was too young, and so talented. Lots of great shows under his belt. He was under-rated by Hollywood really. What a track record. GAH would be my obvious favorite, but I had a soft spot for just about all of his shows. And that memorable ending with him typing away!
