    Mental stress and asthma :(

Anyone else on here have Asthma ? iv had it since 1997 and iv had a hard time with dealing with it , Iv to take 4 different medication for it and it can leave me feeling very stressed out and sometimes high as a kite , since I first got diagnosed with it I would say I am 89% better once I stopped drinking cows milk , but still the medication can stress me out wonder if there will be a cure? or just one easy pill for it I take steroids and after Iv been on them I feel totality run down after they stop , but when I am no them I am high ...super high some people use this to there advantage to use Me or Say I am nasty or whatever ....I try my best no one is perfect

    Ok rant over Karen

Ps wonder if stress and asthma come hand in hand?

    I take vitamin c tabs

    Drink loads of water

And I take 4 different kinds of medication

It all helps but its the daily "ritual" that can grind me down

I've had pretty bad Asthma since I was child. In and out of hospitals for it when I was little. Those oxygen tents were not a pleasent experience.

I've been perscribed several different types of medication. I remember a very vile tasting liquid and then a inhaler with some kind of powedery stuff in it. None of it really worked for me. Finally I got perscribed the Albuterol inhaler. It's great as an inhaler because you only have to take it when you need it and you don't have to be constantly medicated. But it also comes in a tablet and liquid.

I know they pushed the steriod stuff hard for a while for asthma but the long term side effects are quite severe. I was on it briefly as a child. Didn't work for me and I had REALLY bad reactions to it. I personally would not recommend it for long term use.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I have asthma as well. Right now it's pretty well controlled, and the only time I can feel the affects is when I have a cold, (like now) . But I'm on Flovent (steroid inhaler to be taken twice daily), Albuterol (but I liked Alupent better, they've stopped making it). And I do have a nebulizer for emergencies. I couldn't stop drinking milk if my life depended on it, (I'm a milk FIEND). But as long as I take the Flovent twice a day, and stay reasonably healthy, (I don't get colds that often), I'm pretty OK.

No they're not...it's really hard to explain how it feels to folks...and when you're a kid...it's even worse.

I had bad asthma (due to a concave chest wall) when I was younger...but I don't seem to have episodes now that I'm older...I don't take any medicine and I've learned to control the triggers.

My wife on the other hand...she's pretty bad, but ever since she's been on Advair...she's fine...no episodes. If it ever gets bad and flares up, she uses her Albuterol.

My son has it he is nine now we noticed it early on about when he was one and a half years old.

              He takes flovent and salbutamol.
              About $75 a month.

Do not take cough syrop when you are sick as it closes your airways even halls cough drops.
Take the sabutamol when you have a cold for sure(blue puffer).

I take Advair (similar to Flovent) and it has helped me dramatically. I really only suffer when I have a cold or the allergies really act up.

UP until about 30 I had extremely bad nasal allergies. I met mywife and moved in with cats and now it's transformed into asthma. I find the combination of Advair 250 and Singulair to be the best combination, and I've tried several.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

I'm really sorry to hear that Karen. Have you considered accupuncture at all? I hope you feel better real soon...and you too Sharry!
