    Gordon Ramsay The Killer Chef

This just hit the news today. A person from Kitchen Nightmares committed suicide. Apparently a contestant on Hell's Kitchen also committed suicide. It seems like many are critcizing Ramsay's rude abrasiveness to be contributing to the problem. I have watched most of Kitchen Nightmares and can say that most of the people are so far in over the heads financially that I really don't think anything Ramsay is doing is contributing to this. In fact, he usually does a complete makeover at the show's expense and gets the owners back on the right track. I have even read that Ramsay's own restaurants have been struggling financially and that maybe he should eat some Humble Pie

I've never found the man's schtick entertaining in anyway. Neither him or that half transformed werewolf mentor of his.

Ramsey is a piece of crap the way he treats people, i know he does it to try and get them to get it right but there are ways and his is not nice.

However, i'm not sure you can blame him if someone decides to go and kill themselves.

I feel fortunate to say that the only footage of "Hell's Kitchen" and "Kitchen Nightmares" that I have seen has been in promo/commercial form.

I have no doubt if anybody aggressed towards him, he'd fold faster than superman on laundry day. He's all bark.

I don't blame him for a suicide but I've never understood why he's so embraced by the populace for being an a hole.

I like his show and most times he chews people out they deserve it ... If you got roaches in your kitchen because you don't clean it then you need to be yelled at.

Me too. Just watching the commercials convince me that I do not want to spend a half hour listening to his nastiness. Then again, I don't watch any reality shows.

One thing I don't like about Ramsey (or any bigtime chef) ... They always favour tiny portions.

I'm a quantity over quality guy

You are looking at the one chef who made Gordon Ramsay himself cry...

I'm for both, quantity and quality.

I'm not going to eat a pile of dog poo just because it's 10 pounds...

BTW...Ramsay pan searing a steak the right way...

He can definitely cook. I think his main point of view is to differentiate yourself from your competitors and he general inclination is to looking at what the local market desires and serving everything fresh. If someone wants quantity; let the big chain restaurants have it because you won't be able to compete at that level. The smaller portions are generally promoted because you want to make a profit but also sell the food at a price point where the price/quality/quantity align. I think that is his general style.

He also really don't know if his anger/arrogance is more for the tv or reality. He is not a small guy by any means....he's reported to be 6'2"/210 lbs and doesn't look overweight to me. Looks like he could back up his words if necessary.

Deep down I think the guy has a heart of gold.
I've watched a few shows and find him amusing. He is usually trying to help these owners better themselves and the business and alot of the times they have attitude towards him first. He just tells them like it is...LOL
The guy always gives the restaurant a makeover and new menu. Also restructures the kitchen and serving staff.
my advice is if You call in an expert to help you out shut your mouth and listen.
