    Tim,

So how you went about the process?

Can you give us a round down?

You draw on paper or use a graphics tablet?

    Need some pointers from you...

      Hey Hector.
All the hard work is done in the planning stage.
Once I get the script, I do a bunch of little thumbnail drawings, real scratchy and simple, like this: Sci-fi Theologica: Thumbnails

Once I have the layout and art established in the preliminary phase and I've drawn the characters enough times in my sketchbook so that I know them well, then I start on the final art.

ON this project, I used the big over sized comic book blue line paper you can buy at an art store. I mark off the panels, then I begin very loosely sketching in the figures, backgrounds, etc. Usually very lightly at this stage with a red verithin pencil. (Don't ask me why but drawing with a red pencil at this stage helps me keep things loose.)

Once I've got the basics roughted in, I start tightening everything up, usually with one of those clicky mechanical pencils. I usually pencil several pages at a time, and then ink several pages at a time. For this project, I penciled everything in one or two sittings.

Then I inked everything, I believe in a single day because I was on an insanely short deadline. Not much sleep that week. For inking, I use a Windsor Newton series 7 #3 brush and Sumi ink.

Once I've inked, I do touch up, then scan and letter in Adobe Illustrator, color in Photoshop. I rarely, or never "draw" right into the computer. I have a copy of Manga Studio, but I can't stand it. There's a mental barrier there that I just can't cross: ) Plus I just love the feel of the brush in my hand, and the ink hitting the paper.

Any coloring I do, or half toning, is done in photoshop, with a wacom tablet.

Lemme know if you have any other question, happy to answer: )

      Tim
