Seeing Grace Park in a bikini was worth watching it.

It's not Steve McGarrett's son...it's just Steve McGarrett. This Steve's father (John?) was just killed in the pilot and was the catalyst for Steve forming the 5-0 team....

The show is not a sequel but a modern day reimagining

Thanks for the update Anthony. Wow... bummer. I was hoping it would connect with the original. Oh well...

In my early twenties I never missed the original at 3AM on WUTV, now years later I can't even stay up to watch the show on primetime.

Same reaction here. I felt the same way about The Event.

Now I am looking very forward to the season premiere of The Mentalist...which is the smartest/most clever show on tv right now in my opinion.

Castle and Bones are both good shows...but the Mentalist is superior to both of them.

                      I saw it...and it wasn't half bad.

I wasn't a faithful watcher of the original anyway.

The lead cop was kinda of a jerk in the beginning, but became more likable at the end.

One thing is for sure though...despite the vibe I get here that Jack Lord ruled more...I don't know about that...some of the stunts the new lead character did here were quite impressive...check out the part were he jumps on a car nearly avoiding another one...that was his own stunt...and it was pretty darn impressive...Jack Lord wouldn't have done that in a million years...lol.

                          Hmmmm....

The new Hawaii Five 0 felt really typical. I couldn't sit through it. So.... McGarrett is the Mel Gibson character, Danno is the Danny Glover character.... car chase and snappy patter ensues.

I think it's the hazard of remakes: the standard has changed over the years, so you COULDN'T make a show like the original. (Well, you COULD; but no executive will let you....) Not a lot of one liners in the original.

That's what I was looking for, "typical". There is not much to tie it into the original show except for the names and the fact that it's shot in Hawaii.

I liked it. I didn't care for the rap music. No one could do justice to shoes once filled by Jack Lord, but I still plan to watch it. I'm sure the aclu will complain because of the true justice being applied to criminals.
