I have the Eagles/Skins games circled on the calendar. I want to see if McNabb is going to have record breaking days against them. He knows every single formation and I'm sure will tell us everything.
I have already predicted that the Skins will split a game with the Cowboys and Giants but will sweep the Eagles. We'll find out if that turns out to be true. Every talking head has said that trading McNabb to an interdivision rival has to be one of the worst things anyone could ever do and is a tremendous snub to McNabb. It's almost saying "We think are so bad that we'll trade you to the 'Skins and you still won't beat us."Leave a comment:

I was defending Dallas during the pre-season, not out of any loyalty to the team, but because it's hard to accurately judge from pre-season performance. Now that we are two games in, it is apparent that the Phillips/Garrett combo is counter-productive.
Dallas essentially has two head coaches in Phillips and Garrett. That whole situation is sketchy because Garrett was passed over for the head coach spot and Phillips couldn't name his own coordinator. Factor in how involved Jones is with day-to-day operations (directly responsible for hiring a passive coach that would let him dictate who his O-coordinator would be) and I don't know who would want to be Head Coach.
One thing's for sure: If Dallas loses to Houston this week, one of the two will be gone and the other will only finish out the season.
John Gruden and/or Bill Cowher will both tell Jerry Jones, "no, thank you" when he comes calling at season's end.Last edited by saildog; Sep 22, '10, 5:02 PM.Leave a comment:

Yes, I agree. I think Kolb's first couple of games when he looked sharp were a fluke. I don't think he will ever amount to anything. Which is why I am very sad to see him pulled! I was really hoping for a down year for the birds!Leave a comment:

Vick was made the starter over Kohb. If I was Kohb I'd be ticked-off like nobody's business, especially after all those years behind McNabb waiting for his chance.Leave a comment:

The Steelers' D gave Chris Johnson one of the worst beatings of his professional career.
Towards the end it didn't even look like he wanted to be out there. It was a very physical game; helmets, shoes and fists were flying.

Very happy to see my Bears doing better then expected. I loved the trade for Jay Cutler last year and quite a few guys told me I was nuts but I stuck by Jay. Well I still may be nuts but Jay is showing what he can do now that he is playing in a REAL NFL offense.

A friend of mine is a mega-huge Redskins fan and I told him before the season started that I thought the Skins would win the division. He also looked at me like I was nuts. The Cowboys have plenty of talent but there is just something that I can't explain that makes me think they are not a Superbowl bound team.Leave a comment:

When I said own the game; I not only meant in stats but points as well. We were winning 27-10 in the 3rd quarter and seemed to be almost scoring at will. Things fell completely apart after that.Leave a comment:

Yeah, I wasn't trying to say that Dallas is any great team this year. I have been telling everyone that they are not as good as advertised. I wouldn't be surprised to see them miss the playoffs this year and I wouldn't be surprised to see the Skins in it. I just got a chuckle from your comment "I am still trying to figure out how we lost that game after owning that game for the most part" as that was EXACTLY how I felt about last weeks game. I felt Dallas was the better team that day and outplayed the Skins, only to lose the game in the last 5 seconds of each half.Leave a comment:

I guess we all see things through our own rose colored glasses which makes football great. I actually had a Dallas fan walk up to me yesterday and make a choking sound regarding the Redskins game and all I could do was laugh since it was coming from a team that is 0-2 and sitting at the bottom of the NFC East when everyone was talking about Super Bowl for them this year.
I told him come talk to me when Dallas wins a game or two against someone of any significance. Afterall, all of the talking heads have said that Washington would be lucky to win 8 games this year and the Bears aren't even mentioned when NFL is discussed.
But that's how it goes between one of the biggest rivalries in football. You might as well throw any odds maker book away when these two play. Emotions on both sides reach a level that often the team that is not supposed to win ends up taking victory. I will never forget the year when Dallas was in rebuilding mode (I think it was when Aikmen, Smith, et al were rookies). The Redskins were playing super bowl caliber football in those years....Dallas won a single game that year and it was against the Redskins...go figure.Leave a comment:

Dallas fans are trying to figure out how they lost the to the Skins last week after pretty much owning them for 59 minutes as well. Sometimes the better team loses, the "any given Sunday" rule.Leave a comment:
