Sasha Cohen to play Freddie Mercury in upcoming movie

Come the heck on...it would be DISASTROUS if Cohen sings himself...lol.

I don't know...it might turn out to be a good movie...or it might be one of the worst ever made...I'm kinda not sure what to think at this moment.

I just don't see the Guy as Freddie. And as far as the Vocals go...he'd have to "lip sync"...NOBODY can sing like Freddie!

Yeah, he kinda does...I'm just questioning his height...Cohen is really tall and lanky...he might come across as Howard Stern instead of Mercury...

I'd rather see them do a good makeup job on Adam Lambert who would not only look like him but could actually sing the parts...but then again...he's not an actor.

I think finding an actor to play him will be tough.

Sacha Baron Cohen is amazing and will kick arse in the role of Freddy Mercury. Let's not worry too much about the height difference or his vocal ability - because with today's technology - all can be forgiven.

He's got the acting chops and balls-to-wall attitude to pull it off proper. And he's a Brit to boot. Great choice!

I think Cohen can pull it off quite well, They will make him look almost just like Mercury and disguise the height thing, just like they do the opposite with short actors like Cruise etc

Comedic Actors can usually pull off a dramatic role (Kevin Klein, Robin Williams, Tom Hanks) so if he plays it right, I can totally see him pulling this off.

Height aside, there is a passable resemblance. More so, I think, than Gary Busey as Buddy Holly....although they had very similar builds.

Pretty rare to find the Kilmer/Morrison connection.

Sissy Spacek looked nothing like Loretta Lynn and she pulled it off. Joaquin Phoenix looks nothing like Johnny Cash and his singing was really kind of so-so, but he pulled it off. Kurt Russell was freaking awesome as Elvis. He affected the persona enough to make you think he was Elvis. (Ronnie McDowell did the vocals, though.)

I'd say if it is written well and the vocals come from nobody but Freddie, this might be good.

Yeah, Michael St. Gerard bore more than a passable resemblance to Elvis, to be sure.

Weird thing is he didn't have to change his eye color to portray Elvis. Elvis' eyes were blue, but most people think they were brown.

I loved Bruce Campbell as Elvis in Bubba-Hotep. He looked and sounded like Bruce Campbell playing Elvis, but he was great!!!
