    Computer problems with this site

Hello fellow MEGO friends. I can not get on the net at home once again. I am at work right now. Both my PC running XP Pro, and my wife's laptop running 7, keep giving us the "blue screen of death" when on this site. We are both running Firefox browsers and now my PC won't even load the browser without a crash. I was up past midnight last night doing virus scans (none) and registry repairs. I will try it again tonight but just wondering if anyone else had this happen to them? What really ticked me off was missing out on some eBay auctions that ended yesterday!

    Thanks.

I have the same set up. Did you try bypassing your router on your desk top and going straight to the modem?

Hmmm.... That sucks. I regret to hear that you are having issues with your computer. So far knock on wood all is good here. Best of luck in figuring out what may have went wrong.

Well so far so good. It appears both computers had registry issues. I ran a reg cleaner a few times and all is well on both of them right now. I also uninstalled Firefox then after making the repairs reinstalled it. Of course now the DVD drive in Maggy's laptop is acting up so that's the next thing I have to fix.

Wow! If that is the legendary "blue screen of death" then I am jealous I do not have a virus right now.

Thanks! I did another virus scan today and found 2 more. Jr. used my PC a few weeks back and he isn't quite old enough to know any better yet and something infected my computer big time. It has been a PITA getting this thing clean again. I run System Mechanic Pro and it usually catches stuff before it can infest but I think he got suckered into clicking on something he shouldn't have. No more computer for Jr. for awhile.

Yeah, I tell you these days and times one cannot be safe enough from all of the crap that is out there.

I find that it is best to have multiple systems if you can. This way you can surf without worry and just reformat the hard drive and start over from scratch. A net book or a used inexpesive lap top is an affordable solution to said issue.
