Space:1999 I do love the show but I am glad we still have the moon 11 years after the breakaway day.

I'm with you. But I didn't log in yesterday. As geeky as I am, yesterday I thought about Space 1999 and the big yellow letters "September 13, 1999." and then I looked at the calendar for something on Friday and remembered reading that Battlestar Galactica premiered on Sept. 17, 1978.

Sorry i missed EXPLOSION day, but i'm with you. i watched Space 1999 back in the day but i had a hard time seeing it every week as i think it was on saturday afternoons when i would be out of the house. Yeah it wasn't Star Trek but hey they were in reruns for years by the time Space 1999 came around.

Back in the day, my station showed Space:1999 and Star Trek back to back on weekends (topped off by "In Search Of") so 1999 and Trek are like siblings in my mind.

Yeah, I loves me some Space:1999. I hold it in the same regard as Star Trek because when I was five, they were both on at the same time. The Star Trek toys were right next to the Space:1999 ones and because they played on Saturday morning, I assumed they were children's shows.

1999 hasn't aged as well but I still think it's unfairly maligned by the critics both then and now. Fandom then was so biased towards trek it's like they viewed 1999 as a threat, always hated that.

I'm there with ya Mego73. Loved me some 1999, 1st season that is. I'll start watching my DVD's and never get through the 1st few 2nd season. I'll be getting some cards from you when I get to that line fer sure.
