Every dog I've had has worked for me, Border Collies, German Shepherds, Yorkshire Terriers, Irish Wolf Hounds and mutts. My wife and I have been struggling with getting one for over a year.
I can't help but be reminded of the Louie CK joke about bringing a dog home "Hey everyone, we'll all be crying in a few years"

In no particular order; Irish setters,German Shepards,Golden Labs and great Danes.
I love Huskies but hate how their tails curl up an their arse hangs out so a husky cross with the tail down...LOL
“When you say “It’s hard”, it actually means “I’m not strong enough to fight for it”. Stop saying its hard. Think positive!”
We've had our dog for over 11-1/2 years now. What kind is she? Just a brown dog. Honestly, we have no idea what she is. Definitely part Border Collie, there's some lab in her, but there's also a heck of a lot we can't figure out (she's brindled). Loaded with brains and personality, she's a big winner in our house. We're not sure how much juice her battery still has in it since she's now over 12, but it's going to be a weepy day in our house when the time comes.
We have had our share of dogs. I think as far as companionship goes a shi tzu is the best lap dog. They basically live for your attention. I have had two dalmations. The kids like them the best for an outside dog. Very playful. At the moment we have a shi tzu and a pug.
