    The Expendables Review

Not sure if anyone mentioned this movie since it came out. Caught it Wednesday night. Basically Stallone wrote this screenplay while watching Commando on his home movie night. There are more guys and instead of a daughter in distress it's a hot Latina. The storyline could have been written by anybody on their lunchbreak.

However...if you like massive death and destruction you'll love this movie. It's like you took the Magnificent Seven and mixed in Rambo, Commando, Predator, The Transporter, and every Jet Li movie. Tons of firepower, action, high contact fight scenes, and video game like death scenes in human format. It runs pretty much from start to finish like a video game. Kill things until it says The End. Good guys movie with a ton of recognizable faces. They should have brought Chuck Norris in just for good measure, though Li and Statham handle the calm, easy going guys, until you tick me off roles pretty well. Stone Cold as the bad guy works well, and Couture and Crews added a nice backup. Great guys night out movie.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

I thought it was awesome and had a smile on my face the whole movie. Sometimes I was laughing WITH the movie and sometimes I was laughing AT the movie - but to me it delivered a great time either way.

The worst thing I can say about is that some of the action scenes were filmed and blocked very poorly. At the same time it had some of the most awesome craziest murders I've seen in long time.

    THUMBS UP!!!!!

I saw it yesterday, and liked it a lot. Yeah, it's old school violence and mayhem, but I enjoyed myself, had a few good laughs, and that's what the movie is targeted at.
I took my 77 year old Mom, and the part she loved most is when the black guy with the massive machine gun cuts down about a hundred guys like a lawnmower going through a bed of flowers. My Mom should make a movie with Stallone. No wait, he already did that....

The award for Jerk of the Year goes to JC Van Damme who refused the part that went to Lundgren, "because it wasn't interesting enough...."
Yeah, JC, why not go make another movie where you play twin brothers, ok?
That guy gives Belgium a bad name....

Anyway, liked the movie, and in the next one they should get Clint Eastwood as the tough sergeant. When an Expendable ask for a 44 Magnum, Clint would smirk and say "that's a gun for girls, what you need is something bigger...."

I loved it. Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, and Dolph Lundgren make it a memorable movie with Sly.

Me and my buddies are going to make a similar movie, but it will be called "The Expandables".

I wondered why Chuck Norris wasn't in it, but then it occurred to me that he is 70 years old.

Obviously, a 70 year old Chuck Norris is much too dangerous. He won't require a team until 2110.

                  Thought it was great fun....

Sly was on the Howard Stern show and pointed out that Arnold's cameo was on his dime (travel and so forth) and he did not get paid, he just wanted to support the project.....pretty cool.

Arnie didn't look that "energetic" to me. He moved like...well...a guy his age....

Thought it was great when Sly turned to Bruce and says "What's his problem?" and Willis replies "He wants to be president or something." Other than a small part of comic relief the scene is fairly useless in the overall story. I liked that they added it though.

Actually Willis asked Stallone what his problem was and Sly said "He wants to be president." A really fun film. It's getting ready to pass the $100 million mark, so a sequel is already in the works. I hope Sly brings in Kurt Russell. What a hoot that would be!
