    Animal Question

I guess this is a cousin of the rare animal thread.

My roommate claims he saw an animal that resembled a ferret on the shore of Lake Ontario. It dove into the water, swam underwater and retrieved a fish - it did this twice.

I'm fairly convinced it's not an escaped ferret - I didn't think ferrets could swim well, let alone fish - but he's convinced it didn't really look like anything else.

Anyone know what it might be?

Sounds like a weasel or river otter.

Ah - okay. After some more research we thought maybe American Mink too, because it looks more ferret-like. But those are probably the best bets! Thanks!

HA - that was the first thing I thought, but he insisted it had a very bushy tail.
