I can't think of any celebs I'd want to meet. I'm a nerd that collects toys and they are multi-millionaires.
Random celeb: "I just bought another vacation home. It cost me 7 million"
Me: "I just got the new Boba Fett figure at Target. It cost me 7 dollars. Wheeeee!"
Not exactly a lot of shared interests there to talk about.
Well, I think we could all have a conversation with Seth Green . He's one celebrity who might respond to you saying, "Cool! Which variation of Boba Fett did you pick up?"
Although I do know what you mean about the lack of common interests with many celebrities, it's not always the case. In terms of income, there are certainly a LOT of celebrities who aren't rich. Famous doesn't always equate to money. That's part of the reason you see some of the same people at all of the comic book conventions; those appearances are how they pay their bills. In fact, I know one celebrity who has a day job in an office that's completely unrelated to the entertainment industry. She was actually quite embarrassed when she first admitted it to me and tries to keep it under wraps.
I don't mind the politics of a celebrity unless they make statements putting down those people that disagree with theirs in personal, hyperbolic and uncalled for terms.
Streisand, Penn, O'Donnel and Garafolo fall into that category.
Roger Ebert falls into that category too but I met him (shortly before his problem that disfigured him) and he was a real nice guy and fun to talk with (but we didn't get into politics).
So, I'd have to say, although I wouldn't go out of my way to meet most stars (especially the ones I mentioned), I wouldn't exactly avoid meeting them either out of curiosity and if they pull a star trip I wouldn't be disappointed because I didn't expect too much in the first place.
Of course, this doesn't apply to the few stars I want to meet. I hope they are cool
>Prince. I love his music and I think he is a genius... but by all accounts, he is also a total freak.
Yeah, but he’s what.... 4'5"? I think I could take him.
>I used to work with Ron. He's actually a super nice guy and a hilarious person to hang out with
I had a friend who worked in porn. (The management side, so don’t bother asking for pics....) And she said most of the folks were cool. More than anywhere else she’d worked. Go fig.
I totally get the impression Ron Jermey is a riot. But since borrowing some of my brothers bootlegs as a teen I have unentionally seen the man naked too much.
I tried watching a late night Infomertial on some Performance toy and I was terrified he would get naked.
Just like seeing him in a Troma flick.
In Make Up school one of the Character Make Up seniors popped in the class with his complete costume make up.
It wasnt unusual to meet Yellow ******* or the Elephant Man at school but I was FREAKED with Ron Jermey walking in my sculpting class !
If there had been a fire exit I would have used it.
Theres a lot of Musicians , a couple I wish I hadnt met ( Shatner & Savinni) ! Most Musicians and Actors are just " meat puppets" un creative performers.
ONE MAN writes, directs, acts and *gush*
Bruce Campell is my Homeboy!! We expect him to be a jerk. He picks on me everytime I see him !
Soooooooooooooo easy to tell who hates liberals in here...
Hey,
I resemble that remark!!
Seriously, although there are many celebs I would never want to meet, I don't really think I would want to meet anyone. I would be worried that someone that I like and respect would turn out to be a jerk and ruin everything they have done in my mind. Better to let them have their screen persona and love that - keep the fantasy. Most of the celebs that would be on my list to not want to meet have shown their true colors in interviews and their actions, and it really sucks to have that inward like destroyed by reality.

Oh how can I keep the list short?
Let's see...
Barbra streisand
Adrien Brody
Maggie Gyllenhall
Sean Penn
Susan Sarandon
Tom Cruise
Janeane Garafolo
Kanye West
Jon Bon Jovi
John Stewart
Tom Hanks
Rosie O Donnell
...

The first guy that came to mind was Axl Rose. However, after reading the other posts I have to agree with many other people here; I would never want to meet Tom Cruise either.
Axl was also the first that came to mind, the guy has an ego as big as a skyscraper.
I also don't feel the need to meet Tom Cruise or Leonardo DiCrapio
