does this star trek item go for anything?

I have the playmates,1990s classic Star Trek bridge figure set that had roughly 4" toy figures from the 1960's show with a cardboard bridge display. I still have it mint in box. I know they were limited to I think 10,000 but I was able to snag a lower 600#. Does this set go for anything at all or not really?

a pic is below (not mine)

I haven't check lately, but it probably goes for about $25-$30. Just a BEAUTIFUL SET..!! I always wished they would have made a Playmates Bridge set for it, like they did for Next Gen.

I SO lucked out buying it at TRU back in the day..:

My girlfriend and I came acrossed it in an aisle for only $9.99..?!?

It had a side panel partially ripped. Now THAT was a deal.

They're worth so little, I would crack them all out of the package and sell them loose in one lot.

Most people don't want the box because it makes the shipping too expensive.

Playmates and Star Trek. Apparently, a lethal combination.
I personally love them, but you're lucky to get a dollar a piece these days.

Generally, most realized newer collectibles are in fact not collectible

most of us bought this over produced stuff when it was on the shelves as young adults. They were poorly designed, clunky and couldn't sit right. There is no market for it now. I supect the same will be true for most toy lines made after 1988 for a long time to come

MAzinz if you list it offer to ship with or without box it may entice someone who will open them to bid for the reduced cost

What basically happened was the Playmates Trek market exploded in the 90s when TNG was all the rage. That combined with the collector mentality that dominated the decade, and now you have the same result you see with lots of other 90s lines.. a tiny fraction of the interest, and too much product sitting in everyones attic and basement.

Remember KB Toys first 9" exclusive Kirk and Spock from the episode "A Piece of the Action"? Those were giants on the secondary market and commanded $200-400 for a set back in the day.

I bought a set a couple months ago for $20. I probably overpaid

I agree, you can't even give away the Galoob Next Gens and they're like 22 years old already

Even Playmates Simpsons line, which was a collector darling less than 10 years ago, has collapsed on the eBay market. The only things still bringing decent prices are the tail-end stuff and a few exclusives.

The phasers and communicators from that set are over-sized for the figures and work great with 8" Mego figures. They are the correct colors and more detailed.

yeah, I have a bunch of those I was going to sell but when I saw how little they were going for on ebay I decided to just put them back in storage for another 20 years.

definately sound advice. I have never collected for profit but interests do change and that is why some of what goes up for sales goes up.
p.s. I had that Ferengi too and gave him to my son to play with

I remember finding a 1701 Yar in TRU and going to Huntsville to get the Scotty/Sulu sets. Good times indeed.
