    Old Cartoon Artwork Question

I picked up this cartoon drawing of an owl years ago in a New York antique store. It was originally matted in an old wood frame that was in poor condition. The frame was in such poor shape that I just tossed it and kept the drawing. It sat in storage for years until I remembered it and had it custom framed not that long ago. There's no artist's signature on this piece, so I have no idea who made it originally, but I'm guessing it dates to the 1930's or so. Anyone out there have any idea how I could out more about this piece? I was thinking of putting it on eBay, but I have no idea where to list it or what to ask for it.

    Hmmmm....

It'll be tricky since you don't know who did it. It's kinda McManus-esque; but he was pretty popular back then and a lot of stuff from that era is McManus-esque. It looks like a cropped big pic: the balloon seems off kilter, and I wouldn't be surprised iof the owl was actually talking to someone else. (Maybe someone turned it into two pics?)

The moon made me think of a Krazy Kat background, but upon looking at what I remembered (third strip down third panel on this link) I can see that the style is different.
