It doesn't have a thermos, but it is embossed like the old Aladdin boxes. One offer even has a trashcan (I didn't want that). But there are still some available for anyone who remembers when lunchboxes meant something.

Wish I would have had a cool Teacher like you when I was a young'n. ( I never had a Teacher eat with us...much less carry a lunchbox. They were probably all grabbing a Smoke .)

Cool. I still have my Hot Wheels lunch box that I used every day from Kindergarten to 3 rd grade. I then decided to retire it and went brown bag in the fourth grade.

That's a really cool lunchbox and one I never obtained when I was heavy into collecting them.

One little known fact that I seem to remember from this particular box is that the large guy on the box is actually a self portrait to the artist himself. I can't think of his name off hand but he was one of the major lunchbox artists back then which is one reason that this box is so collectible in addition to the subject matter.

Ooohh, you've all stumbled upon the very bane of my childhood.. ALL the cool kids had Batman, Green Hornet, or Peanuts lunchboxes..

Me..? "Oh, no.." I had to have a 'Road Runner' lunch box..

I made a lot of progress from that support group for the lunch-box-challenged..

Back in the day I never had a lunch box because my mom went the "hot school lunch" route.

I was always secretly jealous of everyone who had cool lunch boxes -- but later I found those kids were jealous of my hot lunch

One time my mom did buy me a lunch box --- not to use in school, just so I can say I have one ..... To my surprise she came home with a Ludwig Von Drake box ...
I was very let down, but never told her that.

Wish I still had it today --- Its a pretty tough to find Disney box.

I had two different lunchboxes. One was Adam-12. I was in Kindergarten when I received it and think I liked the police officer motif more than the show. That's actually why I chose Adam West as my online name here at the museum. I was still collecting lunchboxes when I started here and tried to think of a name that was easy to remember like Adam-12. I also had a Washington Redskins lunchbox which is actually pretty rare.
My mom must have thrown them away at some point but I do have originals of both in my box collection.

Here's my sad lunchbox story:

My mom did not believe in lunchboxes. She didn't see the point of carrying something you could lose when a brown bag worked just as well. I ate hot lunch until 3rd grade, and that's when I insisted I bring lunch to school. In a lunchbox, NO...a brown bag. In 4th grade, my friend got a new lunchbox and gave me her old Bobby Sherman one. (not that I didn't like Bobby, but not my first choice for a lunchbox) Her sister gave me a plain red thermos. OK, so now I had a lunchbox. My mom's main excuse for not buying me one is that I'd lose it. I carried this thing for 2 years, and never lost it once. Then right before 6th grade, when we were visiting my older brother, I saw that mountain of lunchboxes at the store, and I wanted a Bionic Woman one. I even had my own money. Do you know what my mom's response to this was? "You already have one." So now I collect lunchoxes. I still don't have a BW one, and not the Partridge Family one I wanted since first grade, but someday.

This lunchbox is probably one of the top 2 or 3 most valuable lunchboxes. Realistically, with lunchboxes falling out of favor right now, the seller would be lucky to get $500 for it in my opinion. 10 years ago, no one would bat an eye at $1,500 for this.

I used to beat up lunchboxes to death as a kid...I went through them like butter...lol.

Good thing my dad kept buying them for me...one of the reasons I miss him dearly.
