Ok, folks...
Jess will be here tomorrow to post pics we took at this event, but she's at Six Flags w/ her kids today. On w/ the account. If anyone in the Bay Area has occasion to go to the Retro Dome movie theatre in San Jose, I highly suggest it. It's a great little theatre complete w/ a lava lounge w/ retro couches and chairs, concessions, (they even offer cereal!) and 2 theatres, one for films and one for live shows! The live theatre was showing "The Sisters of Swing (Andrew Sisters)". Anyway, when we got there, the box office folks, various employess and even the owner was very impressed w/ Jessica's ape get-up. I brought 2 of my Megos along (Ursus and Galen), and when they saw us taking pics, they offfered to take us up on the roof so we could take pics in front of the marquee! Too cool! There wasn't a really big turn out for the movie, (we stayed for both 1 and 2, some folks stayed for just one). We were told by one of the emplyees, the movie was being shown in Blu-Ray DVD(w/ adjustable color and sound) in Dolby Surround sound. Before the show started, there was a little trivia contest w/ 3 questions to win free popcorn, double feature tix, and tix to the play Fantastics. Jessica and I answered all 3. In fact the owner came and stood by us, (we were seated dead center) b/c I think he knew we were gonna answer all of them. I won the free popcorn, Jess won the rest. It was really cool seeing these on the big screen, since I never have. We hope that the theatre will show the others. The owner wasn't hopeful, since the turnout wasn't that grgeat. But the costume designer for the plays named Richard, (also very impressed w/ Jess) said that he may see if they can arrange when there's a Sci-Fi con in San Jose, to offer group discounts for fans. We had a lot of fun!
