'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

My nephew gets RTN and i've seen it a few times.
      It's a bit over-rated

One thing I really don't like about it is they don't use the current DVD releases meaning picture quality and sound is kind of awful.

For programming, miles above TV Land

I don't get RTN, but this sounds right up my alley. TVLand and Boomerang both suck wind now.

I would think that would add to the retroness of it all, wouldn't it?

Not really, because when they were played back in the day they didn't have bad dust, scratches and poor sound.

Was watching Buck Rogers on RTN a few weeks ago and quality was really poor.

The sound sounded like I was listening to an AM radio ... Buck never had bad sound like that back in the day.

RTN is horrible. Good marketing... bad product. The quality is low grade at best. And really, how many times can you watch "Airwolf?"

My view is if you're going to do something, do it right ....

If you're going to play old TV shows at least get decents prints, if you're going to remake Megos at least make their body's tight

Luken Communications owns RTN (now called RTV).

The Retro Television Network (RTV) is a system of television stations that primarily airs classic television programming. Owned by Luken Communications, LLC, The network is specifically designed to air on a local broadcast station's digital subchannel, allowing stations an easy way to expand their programming options.

In 2009, the network changed on-air branding from RTN to RTV in a nod to the digital (DTV) switchover that occurred in June of that year.[2] Also in 2009, Luken Communications announced plans to add a 2nd rerun channel, RTV2, along with two other digital networks (the sports-oriented Tuff TV and the kids-oriented PBJ).

Retro Television Network - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Luken Communications, a Chattanooga, Tennessee based company that operates RTV (Retro Television Network), unveils plans to launch a new kid and baby boomer-targeted network (title TBA). So far Luken has acquired a mix of animated and live-action series from Classic Media and other libraries for the network, including Richie Rich, Casper, The Lone Ranger, Mr. Magoo, Secret of Isis, Zorro, Shazam and Lassie, as well as shorts such as Dick Tracy and Fraidy Cat. Luken reports that affiliate deals are in the works and plans to make further announcements later this year.

Is this going to be a cable channel? Can't wait to see what comes of it.

I watch RTV all the time. I DVR shows that are on when I'm at work so i can watch them later.
The only thing that bothers me about RTV is the synching issues on some shows. The sound doesn't always match up with the video and that's one BIG thing that bothers me. I'm not sure if that's coming from RTV itself or if it has something to do with my cable provider.
Also I have noticed they don't seem to have every episode of some series although they do try to play them in their original aired order.
