I have an actual obsolete room full of misc. electronics (computers and what not) that are well lets say pretty much obsolete by my standards. I keep them around for chips, parts or what have you.

I do have most of the old vintage video game consoles as well in my game room. Some of the oldies but goodies are still fun to play every now and then.
Enjoy what you like, and let others enjoy what they like. (C) Azrak 2009

Too much space. Need more toys!

They still make the needles for the CED machine. Yes, we have those too. I like the fact that the movies look like giant floppy discs.

Much to the dismay of the husband, I also have a stash of obsolete treasures and make him use some of them on a regular basis. I have an 8 track player, a turn table and a VCR in our living room. I also have really ugly rotary phones around the house. The Atari 2600 and Apple IIC reside in our basement. I still have my first Walkman and my first clunky Discman, which will someday be joined, for posterity's sake, by my first generation iPod.

Our big, bulky TV is now obsolete, however, this style will remain in our house. I am one of those few people who has severe motion sickness and I absolutely cannot watch a new TV (LCD, Plasma, HD) without getting sick. I am stocking up on their tube sets as our friends all upgrade. I now have seven packed away in my basement. Hubby desperately wants a big, flat TV on the wall, but it is not happening.

I hear ya, Rally. I don't get motion sickness, but I just don't like flatscreen TVs. They're sterile, ugly and have no personality. Regular TVs are different and just look cooler to me. Besides, have you even noticed that if you watch something old on a flatscreen, and there's a panning shot, it looks fluid? I can see how that would make some people sick, 'cos it makes me dizzy. What I really want is a console floor TV. w/ a wood cabinet. I like sitting on the floor and watching TV.

Back in the later 70's I had an 8-track recorder.

These must have been really uncommon because almost everybody always kept asking me to make 8-tracks for them.

It sounds like several people on here live in places that have a vintage look all around. I sure would love to see photos!
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

My dad had one of those in our stereo system. I liked it because I could borrow my friends' KISS records and make copies of them on 8-track.

The JVC Videosphere! I bought one of these earlier this year... mine has the alarm clock base. Now I need to find one of those Weltron 8-track players cheap.

I still have my Mac Classic.

I'd use it as a boat anchor, but that would be environmentally irresponsible.

There are still two working VCR's in my house. I have a semi-giant boombox which I have a double ended wire going to so it serves the speakers for my computer. Still have a beat up cassette walkman but it works, although I haven't used in ages. Also have two survivng coleco portable games head to head hockey and the Ms Pac-Man made to look like a mini-arcade machine.
If you want to count tube TV's as obsolete, we've got four of 'em, five
if count the '13 portable from the early eighties I brought to my job so people could play video games in the break room. Hooked up to that is my Retro Duo a modern console that plays Nintendo & Super Nintendo games.
