Classic 70s rock hands down...those were my teenage years...and that music is what influenced me the most.

Aside from that...I have developed a rather eclectic taste in music.

40s big band, 50s rockabilly, 60's rock, some 70s disco, 80's one hit wonders, Frank Sinatra stuff, classical, some opera (in small doses), and traditional Mexican ranchera music...but none of today's disgusting narco banda garbage...that music sucks arse.

    Some metal and some punk.

I also like R&B, soul, and even some folk music.

Salsa and Samba are fun party type music too.

Not a big country or hip hop fan though.

I also love movie soundtracks...especially John Williams...he's a God to me.

Growing up my whole family were big country music fans.
My brother in law even played guitar in a local country music band.

I think I like rock so much just to be different ...
But secretly, I do like country too

That's a tough question because with any genre, I like some bands and not others. I do like different genres of music. However, I prefer music that is made by musicians playing instruments rather programmers making music on computers. I guess Nine Inch Nails would be the only exception that comes to mind; I do like some of NIN's music even though much of it is computer programmed.

          I always gravitate back to:
          80's Hardcore punk
          Thrash Metal (Slayer!!)
          80's-90's hip-hop (Public Enemy, Eric B & Rakim)
          and,
Movie soundtracks, at the moment especially Italian movie soundtracks by artists such as Goblin and of course... Ennio Morricone, who is one of my heroes!

I tend to like retro and alternative music. Old R&B from the 60's to 80's are great and I love 90's alternative bands like te Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana. I like old rock bands like Led Zeppelin and the Beatles also.

Here's where I show off my lack of diversity...

Progressive metal - Dream Theater, Queensryche, Fates Warning

METAL! - Soilwork, Testament, Nevermore, Novembers Doom

Progressive rock - IQ, Spock's Beard, Kino, Genesis, Arena

70's CLassic rock - Kansas, Styx, Triumph, Journey, Saga

              I think that's about it.

What? How about: Gentle Giant, Echolyn, Porcupine Tree, Rush, Yes and ELP?

I must assume that you didn't mention King Crimson only because they fit in all 4 categories and you didn't know where to list them.

...and are you talking about Genesis back with Peter singing or Phil?

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
