It's impossible to put a monetary value on the Museum. If it was just the galleries that'd be easier, but the Museum is made up out of hundreds, even thousands, of individuals scattered all over the world, who all bring something to the Museum. Without them the Museum wouldn't be what it is today, even with all the new discoveries

Who actually owns Mego Museum ?

Scott, Joe or Brian --- or some unnamed secret silent entrepreneur ?

Brian and myself, but it's unquestionably a group effort and it's hard to quantify or profit from. The real monetary value lies in the number of Megos it's helped sell by inspiring people to collect them. A lot of people have profited greatly selling Megos here and on eBay that they might not have sold as well without a place like this. But that's a hard thing to exploit or harness.

              Great answer.
When I first joined up I only cared about Star Trek and Black Hole and dabbled in Heroes

The Museum inspired me to collect not only them but Dr Who, Space 1999, S&H, Happy Day's, CHiPs, Apes, Buck Rogers and more.

Foreign Mego was a big inspiration too.

Gotta admit I don't like this thread. No offense please but besides being a living library on all things Mego I also feel this is a club, a hang-out, a community. I have often had the suspicion if the members here lived in the same part of the country many of us would hang out at each others homes. Participate in activities beyond Mego customs. We might even babysit for each others families.

The MM is not a factory or a corporation. Most people here do not really produce items that we sell for profit. In the case of custom heads and clothes there are talented people who like to supply items which frankly are just not available unless you DIY. Some like Dr. Mego, BBP, ZICA and CAT have moved up into the professional arena and we follow their progress. We sometimes sell stuff of our own to other members but that's a lot like a yard sale. In the nearly 10 years or so I have been here I have seen acts of charity; we share things, trade opinions, help people out, offer congratulations and our condolences. We do favors without promise of compensation. Not many sites have the level of trust between its members you see here. I don't see any monetary value in this site.

One of the bigger problems is we've had this loyal community for over a decade but our last message board wasn't google friendly at all. So to many of these services, we're three years old.

Also, we've never played the ad revenue game, the EE thing is the first time the Museum has done this and even then, we're doing it to get a few free dollies some time in the future.
