    Ever tried Freecycle?

Freecycle is an online network where people give stuff away! The local freecycle in my area is very busy and I give stuff away that's not worth the trouble to sell all the time. Have yet to find someone giving away MEGOS, but I just picked up a brand new hot plate to use for dying fabrics and I've picked up other supplies like poster board or fabrics, plus we picked up 50 feet worth of chicken wire for our backyard coop.

See if there's a freecycle network in your area!

My wife and I have used it to both pick up some things and get rid of stuff as well. My wife is the moderator for the group in our county so we see all the listings before they actually hit the net.

I have checked into this a long time ago. Mainly just out of curiosity. I never did follow through or give it much more thought until now. I have seen and read stories about people getting some good stuff that they wanted through this site.

We've used the freecycle as an alternative to craigslist for giving away things like stacks of books and decent, but dingy kid clothes. I am not too fond of inviting folks to my house to give away items, but it works if you can meet at a public place like a local grocery store or some such.

I have gotten a bunch of stuff thru freecycle. Currently I am trying to set up a gym in my garage, and being still out of work freecycle has been helpful. So far I got a nice weight bench 175lbs of weights, an ab machine and two heavy bags.

i've unloaded a few items there and I have requested paint for graffiti cover up.

                      works fine.

Thanks for the link...I bookmarked it.

BTW...Craigslist on the FREE stuff section is not bad either...I've picked up a few things...such as lots of free firewood recently...it was great...
