Well, I hadn't see the photo before and I think it's cool that you posted it!
Yep, I've been there! But some of them hold up. It's so cool to watch a DVD of something that you haven't seen since you were a kid and it's still cool!

Those blow molded decorations from our era has really went up in price have they not? Kind of like the old aluminum Christmas trees that shot up in value.Leave a comment:

Oh yea. A couple of years ago I bought an illuminated blow-mold haunted house Halloween decoration at a flea market. We had the green one when I was growing up. But this one was orange. I only bought it since I still had the green one and now have a pair.Leave a comment:

The gas tank debacle was fixed in '76, so I am safe.Leave a comment:

I have bought lots of toys I really wnated to have but never did as a kid. Also have picked up movies/tv shows that I remember being so cool when I was little and then watching as an adult find myself sorely disappointed.Leave a comment:

Man, my apartment is full of stuff I had or never got to have as a kid. Some of which I'll probably put in marketplace in a week or so because I'm tired of moving it from apartment to apartment all the time.
I really wanted a De Lorean for a car. Came close in 2002 to buying one in great condition from a guy in Fla for 10,500.00. I couldn't get down there to seal the deal tho. I couldn't see trying to justify to my Dad that I would go down and get it when my Mom was sick that year and things looked bad. My Mom did pass away that fall. It seemed like a heartless idea; to do to be drivin' around in an cool exotic car enjoying yourself when one of your parents just died. That would be disrespectful to Mom. I let go of the idea after 2002 and bought a used Honda instead.Leave a comment:

For me a 1973 Mini Cooper that went to my second ex wife, a Rickenbacker 4005 Semi-Hollowbody bass and a black bat kite with the big eyes.Leave a comment:

How's the gas tank holding up?
My dad had a '78 Rallye Pinto all tricked out from the factory. Must have been a collector's item since Ford contacted him wanting to buy it back. Never did sell but later years he was stolen and trashed. :(
Well, I don't know if 16 counts as childhood but...
My first two cars that I owned were Pintos and I cried when the second one died as I loved that car. I had it all fixed up with mag wheels, wide tires, and lots of other stuff. I had been looking for another for MANY years and finally snagged one a couple of years ago. I had to snaz it up to make it look more like my childhood Pinto, but the result was worth it. Yeah, I know, everyone here is probably sick of seeing this picture, but here it is anyway...

For graduation I received a brand spanking new 1989 Iroc. I loved that car as it had sentimental value. Too bad I was side swiped a couple of years later in it by some arse in an 18 wheeler and the car was totaled.
Every since then I vowed that I would buy another one just like it some day when I find one like it in very minty condition. With the other nicer cars that I own now it has not been real high on my to do list, but I will eventually get around to finding/looking for one again in the near future. Just because I want one and it reminds me of back in the day.

Richard Scarry books & toys for me to give to my children (when I have them).
Also bought a '66 Mustang as my sister's boyfriend, when I was 10, had 2 of them. Bad idea for me though, ah well - live and learn.Leave a comment:

I have always wanted to own a Corvette Sting-Ray ever since I was about 7 or 8. Unfortunately, I have not purchased one (at least not yet). Family is still young and I haven't hid mid-life crisis yet.'77 Trans Am
Ever since I seen Smokey and the Bandit new in the theatre I said to myself someday I will own a Trans Am just like the Bandit's.
In the early 90's I made my dream come true.
Only problem was I found myself constantly having it fixed so I eventually let it go.
But, for a little while I was in heaven
I also bought some aluminum cups that I used to drink from when I was a kid and always liked and found them at a yard sale.Leave a comment:
