I can, to this day, sing that song word for word.

Corn pone as that all was, I miss those Saturday Evenings hanging out with my Grandparents, watching Mid-South Wrestling with my Grandad and Hee-Haw with all of us gathered in the living room.

We lived in the suburbs when I was growing up, but on the weekend, my father had farmland the next county over and we would get up around 6, mix some peanut butter and syrup together to spread on bread and go work on the farm all day. We would come home that evening exhausted and my mom would have dinner ready. Afterward my dad was usually reclined in his easy chair watching Hee Haw. It was a staple in our household throughout the 70's. I was usually relaxing in my room with a variety of Megos.

As a kid in the 70s, I used to watch this on Saturday afternoons. As a teen in the 80s, (pre-cable), we used to watch this Sunday night while getting our clothes ready for the school week.
