Do you like seasoning on your popcorn?

At the local movie theatre near my house, they have add in seasonings for popcorn, like Ranch, BBQ, nacho cheese. At another movie theatre, you can buy a mini seasoning jar of white cheddar or nacho cheese of your own to add in as much as you want.

I love Ranch and White cheddar. Anyone else like seasonings in their popcorn?

Sometimes I like to shake a little parmesan cheese into the bag and shake it up before I pour it into a bowl. Pretty tasty.

My favorite is to pour Louisiana Hot Sauce on it.

Yes, All with butter or whatever the greasy substance it they serve.

Movie theater popcorn???? Ick!

I prefer home popped popcorn, that way I can put whatever I want on it.

I like to put melted butter, REAL butter BTW, a smidge of salt, some curry powder for a kick, shake it all up in a paper bag, and I am good to go.

The Grand Lake or Piedmont theaters?

I have not gone to either one of them in a long while.

I always go to the AMC 16 (and United Artists 10 as backup) in Emeryville...easy parking...modern...and IMAX screen.

But I do love the decor of the Grand Lake...but I hate those little seats they have...and the Piedmont is just way too small. Plus parking is always a headache for both of those.

BTW...I usually do buy popcorn at the theater...it's just too traditional to pass up. However...I much prefer homemade popcorn...I use a large presto pot...and cook the kernels over the gas stove (no microwave stuff)...all that with a touch of olive oil and melted butter.

Once I place the popcorn in large bowl...add salt to taste...top it with chopped tomato, onion, cilantro...then add Mexican jocoque...and if there's none of that around...regular sour cream...with hot sauce as a final topping...





Best eaten with a spoon...

Believe me...it very messy and sticky with sour cream...a spoon is highly recommended...

Actually...when I get the popcorn at the movie theater...I go to the hot dog section...and grab a bunch of jalapeños...and add it as my pocorn topping...
