    Frazetta gets big kudos

This makes me really happy. Nothing like the market to confirm an artist's genius. This is terrific for all of us geeks who had prints of these Frazetta paintings on our walls as kids.

I'd been following the really sad story of the Frazetta Museum after Frank's wife Ellie passed away, including all the infighting between his children.

From what I've read, I really don't think this is what Ellie and Frank himself wanted. I think it's just another victory for the vultures who were picking away at the carcass while Frank himself was still alive.

You can google the situation yourselves and make your own conclusions. The Ghost of Ellie's blog has been taken down now since the family supposedly were in the middle of settling their differences via mediation, but Bleeding Cool has choice snippets left...

Blog Alleges Crimes Against Frank Frazetta Bleeding Cool Comic Book News and Rumors

I understand that Ellie and Frank wanted to keep the entire collection and legacy on display in the museum so that the entire world could enjoy it, not just a handful of collectors with deep pockets.

Frank Frazetta Jr was far from the "deadbeat son" since he was the one working most closely with matriarch Ellie and Frank prior to their deaths to keep their dreams of the Museum alive. Which was why he was trying to get all the pieces into a safe location for storage using the back-hoe after the other three siblings were essentially taking the pieces and selling them after taking control of the estate in rather questionable ways.

I really wished that I had visited the Frazetta Museum and seen these all those pieces with my own eyes before this tragedy went down last year. Whatever the real story is, I think it's tragic that the legacy of the Frazetta Museum has been essentially dismantled by greed and family infighting.

        Sir, you are 100% right.

These are the liars that said the Frazetta collection was going on tour. Perhaps what they meant by "going on tour," was that they were going to raid the collection and tour Europe with the money.

I worked with Ellie Frazetta on numerous occasions, bringing classes to PA to see the museum (back when it was above the costume shop in town,) and I know this is not what neither she nor Fritz wanted. I never met any of the siblings, but a close friend of the family has defended Jr. in saying that he wanted to keep the collection together, while the others had dollar signs dancing in their heads.

Greed is dismantling the single greatest collection of late 20th century illustrations before our very eyes.

Fantastic. Frazetta was a true master and visionary. His art will endure forever.
