The shame of it all is Waters had his chance to do the right thing back in the Mid 80's when Gilmour basically took over the reins of Floyd. Waters was arrogant and always thought he was bigger than Floyd. It's a shame because he actually sounds really really good doing the Floyd classics. BTW, nothing beats Gilmours guitar work on Floyd...there's no guitarist that could do what he did. It's such a distinct sound that he created for Floyd. Same can be said for Brian May with Queen....you here their guitar work and you know who it is.
"When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".

Oh no doubt, While I love Waters creativeness, I love Gilmours talent equally and the shame of it is, they both still sound great.
That was good. That song always makes me a little depressed, mostly because it reminds me alot of my own mother and her overprotective ways that have been instrumental in making me a very secluded & stand-offish person. I understand mothers in a way since I'm a father, but there has to be a limit. You have to give them freedom and room to breathe. The world is scary, but you have to let them go. Before it's too late. Let them out of the nest before they forget how to fly.
The Wall is a very emotional album. But that's a bit of an understatement. Great stuff. I really enjoyed that performance.
