    Netflix and being poor

I've finally joined the Netflix revolution. I used to just buy all movies I was interested in, but because of my wife's job less, well, we've been pretty darned poor the last eight months.

We got the Wii disc for Netflix in the mail today - as well as our first physical DVD - and I have to say being able to watch movies via the Wii is pretty cool. They're definitely not Blu-Ray quality, but are certainly equal to cable, and there were no lags or glitches or buffer under runs. Everything looked great!

For $8.99/month, it's not a bad deal at all. I've also noticed that, for an extra $2.00/month, you can get Blu-Rays. I just might have to upgrade!

Oh yeah, Netflix is awesome. Brick and mortar video stores are toast. My wife always has a steady stream of movies coming in and out. If we get a movie we really, really like I'll wait 6-8 months and buy it used from Amazon for a fraction of the original cost. Pretty cool stuff.

I got it instead of a renewal of my EHarmony account.

For a year I overdosed on TONS of Sci Fi shows I missed.
      Still didnt finish Doctor Who.

It got to where watching videos was a duty.

I had three at a time and they Just-Kept-Coming!!!
      They have EVERYTHING!

yeah because the studios want to make money on dvd sales first.

Netflix rules. My wife and I are about to enjoy our recently received DVD. See you in 2 hours.

I have yet to join Netflix. It does sound like a great deal. I still just buy the movies on DVD & Blu Ray. There is still something about having the product tangible and in hand that I like.

I still can't believe that Block Buster is still even in business. There have been a lot of closings in the areas in which I live. I guess some are still hanging on by a thread. ???

I actually get more use out of the streaming service with my XBox 360 than physical discs at this point. Still a great value as I don't have much space for movie purchases, my DVD space is mostly reserved my my ever-growing TV on DVD collection.
I don't mind buying those because I know eventually I'll watch them again. Most new movies are a one and done for me.

Yea, the studios cut a new deal to increase sales and on demand, so now nexfix has about a 2 week lag on most stuff. But I've been a member for years, since they started and all you have to do is survive the install 2 week lag then your back in cycle.

All so if you have a computer hooked up to your lcd you can watch a ton of stuff for free right a netflix. Great full screen picture.

Netflix is the best when it comes to carrying older TV show releases

That's mostly what I use it for.

I usually get Netflix for a month a year and get caught up on all the new TV show releases I want and then cancel.

That's how i'm eventually going to get SMDM and Bionic Woman (when they come out)
