That's why I had the wink-y face in there. My wife and I have been out to N. Cal before. Actually, I heard an interesting report this morning that the geology in Maryland is a bit different so that the 3.6 here was "felt more" than one that would be in California. They said that since the land is more solid, the vibrations are not absorbed as much. My wife thought it was a loud truck running by at 5 amChild's play earthquake...

Earthquake...big or small.... give me a hurricane any day of the week. Hurricanes show up with Rick Sanchez in a Cubs hat, and about a week lead time. Earthquakes are like thieves in the night.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I live about 20 miles from where the Epicenter was located. I heard about it on the radio and people that live near me said it felt like a washing machine in the next room over that was a bit overloaded and off kilter. I didn't feel a thing."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

The big difference is that earthquakes...you know...the really bad ones...are decades apart...while hurricanes are every season.
I've never been in a hurricane...and I tend to keep it that way...lol.

We don't experience Earthquakes in Md. so that's why it made headlines. Hurricanes usually hit down in Florida or Texas and works its way up through the U.S. and we do feel it even halfway through the U.S. so I can only imagine what it feels like to get slammed head on. We have had hurricanes hit us head on in Md. but I live about 200 miles from the coast so we don't get it as bad as living closer to shore."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

We rarely have earthquakes. The biggest we ever got was in 1938 with a magnitude of 5.6. Last earthquake we got was 2 years ago with a magnitude of 3.2."...The agony of my soul found vent in one loud, long and final scream of despair..." - Edgar Allan PoeComment
